Brave Change Works LLC began with a trip taken in Vietnam in 2017.

I flew to a small island off the southern coast of Vietnam called Côn Sơn. I was seeking rest from my stay in Ho Chi Minh City. I found instead an idea that catapulted me to form Brave Change Works. 

I discovered the island's complicated history---past alliances between the colonized and colonizers, conflict between nationalists and loyalists, and regional and civil war. On the island stood a historic facility where those in power imprisoned dissidents and prisoners of various conflicts and tortured them until most met their death. Instead of bitterness and rancor, the Vietnamese islanders I met were equanimous. 

They had transmuted their past into a hope that a better future was possible. They had turned conflict into a commitment to a less violent way and turned pain into possibility. 

I formed Brave Change Works, LLC, back in the US to honor that visit and honor all experiences that allow clients to transmute conflict into learning and leadership opportunities. I am trained in the fields of conflict management and organizational change, and I use these frameworks to help clients find safety from the storms of their personal or organizational lives. And to rebuild.
